A blog (short for ‘web log’), is a website or a part of a website that is updated frequently with news, commentary, articles, and more. New items, called posts, appear on the top of the blog’s main page with older items underneath.
Blog functionality is built into many content management systems. Separate open source and commercial blog scripts also exist.
Blogging provides an easy way to maintain up-to-the-minute updates. A blog can quickly get a campaign’s message public. Quick response to real or perceived problems enhances a campaign’s image and reputation.
Any campaign can benefit from having an ongoing blog – the key word being ongoing. If a blog is set up and nothing is posted to it, it is worse than not having one at all. Don’t add a blog section to your website unless there are plans for it to be regularly updated.
