Political Campaign Blogging – Setup and Best Tips

A blog (short for ‘web log’), is a website or a portion of a website that is updated frequently with links, commentary, articles, and more. New items, called posts, typically appear on the top of the main page with older items underneath. Blogs may constitute an entire website (such as a WordPress CMS). Other times, blogs are incorporated into the site as a separate section.

More and more politicians use blogs as a way to interact with constituents. How you use a blog (if you choose to have one) is up to you.

Any campaign can benefit from having an ongoing blog – the key word being ongoing. If a blog is set up and nothing is posted to it, it’s worse than not having one at all. Don’t add a blog to your website unless there are plans for it to be regularly updated.
